AGI has setup its own R&D facility with its own concept of Mechanical BeneficiaIon facility for processing upto 97% FC material from carbon content of as low as 2% in ROM.
The company has its own engineering facility for design & fabricaIon of the process plants.
We have successfully carried out laboratory trial With our own Research & Development (R&D), of Alkali treated High Purity Graphite in our self designed pilot plant & have achieved a result of purificaIon upto 99.5% which can be further optimised to 99.9% purity with further optimisation of the process systems.
Graphite is a mineral that forms when carbon is subjected to heat and pressure in Earth's crust and in the upper mantle. Pressures in the range of 75,000 pounds per square inch and temperatures in the range of 750 degrees Celsius are needed to produce graphite. These correspond to the granulite metamorphic facies.
Natural Graphite occurs as isolated, flat, plate-like parIcles with hexagonal edges if unbroken and when broken the edges can be irregular or angular. Has a disIncIve plate-like or ‘flake’ formation. Flake graphite is subdivided into large, medium and fine sizes and is a less common form of natural graphite, and is of higher quality than amorphous graphite. It is formed in metamorphic rocks or calcareous sedimentary rocks.
Flake graphite has a distinctly flaky or platy morphology. Graphite is formed when pure carbon atoms link together to form flat sheets, which manifest themselves as large visible flakes or coarsely crystalline graphite.
Graphite powder is blackish soft allotropic form of carbon in hexagonal crystalline form widely used by different industries like pencils, crucibles, and etc.
